AFP - Typhoon Fanapi, one of the strongest storms to hit China in years, has left 54 people dead and 42 missing in flooding and landslides in the south of the country, state media said on Thursday.
Sunday evening I went to Xiamen AND learnt from the TV that a typhoon swept a city. Since I had been already to this city, so I could read the name and then I knew that the storm is close, because the city is about one hour and a half drive away. The arrival of typhoon FANAPI was forseen in the morning. That evening there was no bus back to Zhangpu, but if there had been any, I would have been returned, as I knew the next day there might be no traffic.
The sound of wind wake me up in the morning.The earliest bus I would have taken if there is no typhoon, but it did not want to anymore as there might be landslides or the strong wind might push the bus off the road.
But at 1000, the situation did not seem so bad, so I walked to the bus station. There were not many people queuing for tickets, as I learned, because the buses did not go out. Mine did not start either, I was told.
No bus, no hotel, my phone battery running low and I did not bring the charger.
Fortunately, the company’s truck was heading for Xiamen in the early afternoon, it will pick me up. We have an office in Xiamen, I went here seeking a shelter. Here I worked a little bit, checked and responded the fax. Surfed ont he Internet until 9 pm, at least the time went by and I had a roof over my head. By then the truck could just turn around and unload the car. Arrived in Zhangpu at 1100, meeting up with the typhoon during our way.

Other places were worse, Fanapi killed 54 and 42 missing. Not to mention the damage.
Vasárnap este Xiamenbe mentem és a tévéből néztem, ahogy a tájfun végigsöpör egy városon. Mivel korábban már jártam ebben a városban, így el tudtam olvasni a nevét és akkor már tudtam, hogy Xiamen-t is hamar elléri a vihar, mert a város kb másfél óra autóútra fekszik. A reggeli órákra ígérték tájfun FANAPI érkezését. Akkor este már nem volt busz vissza Zhangpu-ba, de ha lett volna, visszamentem volna, mert tudtam, másnap nem lesz közlekedés.
Hétfő reggel szélvihar hangjára ébredtem, de azért voltak kocsik, buszok az úton. A legkorábbi busszal mentem volna, ha nincs tájfun, így viszont nem is szálltam volna fel, mert lehetnek földcsuszamlások vagy az erős szél letolhatja a buszt az útról.
De. 10-kor nem tünt olyan vészesnek a helyzet, elindultam a buszállomáshoz. Nem isálltak sokan sorban jegyért, mint megtudtam, mert alig indult el jáart. Az enyém sem indul egész nap, közölték velem.
Se busz, se szállás, telefonom lemerülőben, töltőt nem hoztam.
A cégnek szerencsére elindult a teherautója kora délután, ez fog felvenni. Van egy irodánk Xiamenbe, ide mentem menedéket kérve. Itt még dolgoztam is egy kicsit, megnéztem a faxot és válaszoltam a kérdéskre. Este 9-ig interneteztem, legalább eltelt az idő és fedél is volt a fejem felett. Ekkorra tudott csak a kocsi lepakolni és megfordulni. Este 11-re szerencsésen megérkeztem Zhangpu-ba, közben utolértük a tájfunt is.
Reggelre ez a kép fogadott bennünket, a fák lefeküdtek.
Más helyen rosszabbul jártak, 54-en meghaltak, 42 eltünt. A károkról nem is beszélve.

Hong Kongból, ha busszal megyek Xiamenbe, a busz mindig megáll egy étteremnél, amellyel szerződésben áll, hogy a fáradt utasok csillapítsák éhségüket és egy kicsit kinyújtozzanak a hosszú úton. Ez a hely a MOSLÉK ÉTTEREM. Én ugyan még sosem ettem itt, de ahogy az "ételek" kinéznek és amennyire a tányérok és evőeszközök el lehetnek mosva, hát ezért hívom én ezt a helyet MOSLÉKNAK. Megfigyeltem, hogy más nyugati túristák sem kívánják megkostólni a kínai konyha itt készült remekeit, hanem inkább stabilan állnak a busz mellett, nehogy hozzáérjenek valamihez és még valami fertőzsét is hazavigyenek, várva a megnyugtató indulást.
A kínaiak ebből mit sem vesznek észre, örömükben szétszemetelik a környéket, mert ők csak akkor érzik jól magukat, ha végre szabadon jól kiszemetelhették magukat. Így néz ki a parkoló, miután a jóllakott utasok folytatták útjukat.

When returning from Hong Kong to Xiamen, my bus stops at a restaurant, the agency must have a contract with them, in order for the passengers to releive their hunger and to stretch out some after the long ride. This place I call Wish-wash restuarant. I did not eat here due to the appearance of the foods, of the wish-washed plates and cutleries. So this is the reason I call it Wish-wash or swill. I observed that other western tourists do not wish a try from the delicious Chinese foods made from this very place. They rather stick to the pavement next to the bus, not to touch anything and carry home an infection, rather waiting for departure.
The Chinese passengers do not notice from it anything, it feels fine and they litter all the environs, so they feel high. Look at photos of the parking lot as the aftermath of some Chinese long distance buses.

The elderly Chinese generation descended from Korean ancestors, therefore they were more rude and disgusting. The first Chinese emperor was a Korean tyrant who taught some bad manners to Chinese people.
Fortunately, Japanese are teaching Chinese people to become more civilized, which is why now they are finally moving away from their uncivilized ways.

Szépen elterültek ezek a banáncserjék a házunk előtt. Múlt héten néhány tájfun keringett a fejünk felett és ezek a cserjék ezt már nem bírták ki, derékba törtek.
Egy ilyen esőzés alkalmával akkora vízmennyiség tud lezúdulni, hogy kezdtem aggódni, nem lesz-e árvíz. A Fülöp-szigeteken, ahol a bennszülöttek hullámpalával fedik a tetőt, egy ilyen vihar alkalmával nem is tudnak egymással beszélgetni, úgy kopog az esőcseppek milliárdja a tetőn.
Most is esős idő van, de nem tájfun. Ismét Hong Kongba megyünk vasárnap, az előrejelzés szerint esős idő várható ott is.
These banana trees have nicely laid down in front of our house in South of China. Last week, some typhoons were circling above our heads and these trees could not bear staying upright any longer.
During such an occasion as much rain water can fall that I began to worry about our area being flooded. In the Philippines, where the natives cover the roofs by slate, during a storm they are not able to hear each others' voice, when knocking billions of raindrops on the roof.
Now, it's rainy weather again, but no typhoon, fortunately. Again, we're going to Hong Kong on Sunday, the forecast says rain is expected there.
